Limbo Kids Return After a Decade with Stellar New EP ‘Sirensong’

Few bands disappear for ten years and then make a comeback. Even fewer emerge stronger and more innovative than before. Such is the case, however, with Limbo Kids, a three-piece act currently semi-divided between the UK and Ireland. Fronted by James Hitchman (Alphabet Backwards) and Mark Stephenson (ex-Minor Coles) with Paul Davidson on drums and percussion, the talented trio recently put out a three-track EP called ‘Sirensong’, and it’s absolutely brilliant!

‘Dopamine’ kicks things off in an upbeat and infectious fashion, a gentle slice of synthy indie-pop magic that sets the scene perfectly. ‘A Better Part’ then steps up to the plate with more chewy and hypnotic goodness that is simply impossible to escape. Both tunes showcase Limbo Kids’ adoration for big pop melodies and angular guitar riffs before ‘Riptide’ brings the show to an end. Taking a slightly different sonic path, the song is more laidback and mellow compared to its predecessors, but it beautifully rounds off the EP with a poignant and contemplative finish.

With a second EP in the works, though only scheduled for release towards the end of next year, fans and critics have plenty of time to fully savour the genius that is ‘Sirensong’ while looking forward to what comes next!
