Earlier this year, Jacob Rountree solidified his position as a force to be reckoned with his latest Alternative-Folk album, As I See It. Featuring 10 tracks, each proving themselves well-deserving of their place on this no-skips album, Jacob is attracting a brand new audience, all with a shared love for one particular song, titled “Definitions”.
Reserving the third spot on the album, “Definitions” offers a dynamic, multi-dimensional melody, led by hauntingly stunning lyrics. Described by Rountree as the Underdog of the album, the track combines an elaborate production with intricately poetic verses, creating something extremely powerful.
“One with society, prove your worth with a college degree, we are passers-by, recycled through the end of time.” Jacob’s revealing lyrics tell an extremely personal tale, reminiscent of the likes of Nick Drake and Bob Dylan. The moment you press play on “Definitions” you’ll realise you’re encapsulated by the realisation that you’ve never heard anything like this before. Rountree is carving his very own path in the Indie-Rock genre, proving himself to be more than just a talented alt-folk artist.
Having been voted Bozeman’s Choice no.1 Solo Musician 2022, Jacob is certainly having a year to remember, and we can’t wait to see what comes next!
