Hailing from Nashville, Lauren Presley knows a thing or two about pop music. Boasting a public profile that’s packed with dedicated fans and millions of streams across the board, the talented songstress has recently unveiled her latest effort, an intense yet nuanced pop-rock anthem titled ‘People Leave’. Introducing itself with a rather mellow character, the track might mislead keen listeners into thinking this is a dramatic, evocative ballad…
Not quite. Once the chorus hits, all hell breaks loose, with a saturated, anthemic rock livery taking charge, all while maintaining the contemporary, mainstream quality that makes Presley appealing to such a large audience. Frankly, it’s impressive, as so are Lauren’s powerful, luscious vocals.
Speaking about the lyricism behind the song, the American creative explains: “We wrote this song about having past trauma from people walking out of your life, especially at a young age. And how as an adult that fear of abandonment still sticks with you, and comes out in your relationships even the healthy ones. It’s like it’s engraved in you and you can’t help it, but you try your best to trust again.”
