Speaking about the lyricism behind the song, the American creative explains: “We wrote this song about having past trauma from people walking out of your life, especially at a young age. And how as an adult that fear of abandonment still sticks with you, and comes out in your relationships even the healthy ones. It’s like it’s engraved in you and you can’t help it, but you try your best to trust again.”
