Kt Shares Elegant and Playful Jewel ‘Fickle Friend’

‘Fickle Friend’ was an unexpected surprise. Not knowing what to expect, our first listen was as heavenly as it could have been. Introduced by an elegant and soulful piano and vocals section, the track soon jumps into more playful territories, blending thick drums and sleazy saxophones with mellow keys and jazzy-flavoured guitars. In fact, the record greatly rejoices from the dualism between those groovy sections and more luscious, evocative and piano-based RnB glory.

All of that sounds good, but in truth, none of it would matter without the stunning vocals of Kt. Emerging from Ireland, the talented songstress manages to lend his powerful and nuanced voice to what’s an already compelling track. The result is a fantastic record, showcasing Kt’s genre-bending flexibility and immense taste. A collaborative effort with producer Dave Skelton, ‘Fickle Friend’ is a worthy listening experience for every music lover.

Speaking about the lyricism behind the record, Kt explains: “The track is a mixture of both anger and vulnerability and is a bit of a ‘screw it, I’m done with you’ kind of song. I think most people will have encountered similar experiences in their lives and will find singing along cathartic.”
