KINO Sets Off Year-Long Challenge with ‘Galaxies’

Emerging from Canada, up-and-coming producer KINO has set himself a simple yet crucial goal; releasing one track per month for the whole year. There’s something fiercely inspiring in his resolution: perhaps the willingness to risk, the fierceness to embark on a creative journey that will definitely test his artistry and talent, hoping to come out of the other side with consistency and confidence. Well, if ‘Galaxies’ is anything to go by, we are confident this will be a significant year for KINO. The first track to be released in the challenge, ‘Galaxies’ proudly navigates known territories, while giving us a preview of what the Canadian artist stands for. Emotional melodies, fresh synth work, and trap-infused drum grooves.

A personal artistic journey originally started in 2014, KINO has used his material as a way of bridging the divide between emotions and music. Influenced by the likes of Novo Amor, Alaskan Tapes, Vancouver Sleep Clinic and Hans Zimmer, he’s created a sound that resonates with others, bringing hope and comfort to those struggling to find their place in the world.

This ethos of hope and comfort is evidenced by the success of his commissioned short film score, which won an award at a film festival. ‘Galaxies’, recorded in his home studio in Toronto, Canada, is a reflection of this hopefulness and the knowledge that even if life doesn’t turn out exactly as you had envisioned, it can still be far better than you ever dreamed.
