Shipped with a stunning music video, the song is the perfect introduction to KingQueen’s extravagant, hard-hitting musical universe.
Boasting dancy, four-to-the-floor verses drenched in electronica, ‘That’s Why She’s Hot’ then completely flips the script during choruses and breakdowns, instead pursuing half-time rock grooves and fuzzy guitar tones. Honestly, that’s a stadium tune, who knows if the group will ever get a chance to test that… judging by what we hear, that’s likely. Lead singer and founder Ina’s evocative vocals are incredibly charismatic and powerful, completely commanding the listener’s attention. Bobby Carpenter, Brandon Valerino, Jake Absher and Ella G. Burgos complete a talented lineup.
Speaking about the playful and sassy nature of the video, they explain: “We are programmed to assume what a person likes, listens to, or is capable of – because of their looks and gender and with this video, we want to break the stereotyping. We are always put in boxes, but none of us are supposed to fit in a box”.
