Emerging from Seattle, King Zaae is what we would consider a young talent. He’s the next generation: boasting strong eclecticism, the talented rapper champions a rather unique style, one where his lyricism carries center role. Active since 2021, King Zaae has been extremely productive, already having a plethora of singles and EP under his belt. Now, he’s looking to kickstart 2023 with a fresh, edgy and exuberant new record, ‘cl2ssroom’.
In it, the listener will be confronted with a joyful blend of hyper-pop, glitch electronica and pop-derived vocals. It’s interesting, we feel as if the production enhances King Zaae’s vocals, letting us observe him in a slightly different framework. The song has a killer chorus: catchy and relatable. The young artist’s vocals are able to shine with full tone and surprisingly good singing. Perhaps we’ll hear more material on those lines, in the future.
Lyrically, ‘cl2ssroom’ explores the human need for connections, through the lenses of its author: “This song is an expression of my experience in Highschool and an outlook on my school life in general. The point was to find people who relate to chasing or pursuing their passions daily. Also to relate to the people in their everyday lives telling them they can’t and the draining expectations of the world to uphold the status with institutional education.”
