Khemet McConville Shares Playful Single ‘I Look Through Your Window’

There’s something rather unique in ‘I Look Through Your Window’. An elegant, slowly-moving gem, the record is built on elegant textures, soul-flavoured vocal harmonies and a steady, polite beat, ending up in very eclectic territories. In fact, it strongly reminds us of certain jazz fusion from the late 70s, at least in its instrumental formulas. Of course, the track in this case is super-charged with modern sound design and a spacious, psych-like outlook.

Penned by California sound wizard Khemet McConville, the record is a highly personal affair, with the young creative taking care of all instrumental parts and of the songwriting. Citing Tame Impala as a model for his mode of action, McConville showcases a deep awareness of the contemporary musical landscape, and judging by what we hear in ‘I Look Through Your Window’, it’s clear that the project has a vast amount of potential. We can’t wait to see it come to fruition.

Most iconic moment in the single: the breathy ‘ah-has’ delivered with such playfulness and groove. Give it a chance.
