Kerrin Connolly Unveils Expansive Sophomore Album ‘Transitions’

Hailing from Massachusetts, Kerrin Connolly is an indie pop-rock artist who recently unleashed their sophomore album ‘Transitions’. A seven-track offering crafted entirely by the musician, the collection of alternative pop-rock tunes signals a subtle shift in sound from Kerrin’s previous work. Infused with driving drum beats and spirited guitar riffs, ‘Transitions’ is a powerful declaration from the artist: “I refuse to stagnate”.

‘Interim’ gets the show underway in an intriguing fashion with some intricately hazy guitar work and Kerrin’s distinctive and heartfelt vocals. ‘Fingertrap’ then steps up to the plate with a thunderous opening before turning into a complete earworm that draws you in and sticks in your head for days.

‘Talk Therapy’ is also pretty all-out and, unlike its predecessor, doesn’t let up much at any stage, before ‘Photogenic Memory’ indicates we’re now heading down a softer sonic path. ‘American Psomething’ is a stunning piece of music that explores the struggle for personal and creative fulfilment, and the wistful guitar pedal ballad ‘Beige Ladies’ is equally beautiful in its own right.

‘With My Hands’ concludes ‘Transitions’ and that’s a song I shall leave you to explore for yourself. What I can say is this…it’s a remarkable record that has been masterfully assembled.
