Aptly titled ‘Takin’ It Easy’, Kelsey and Lisa’s newest offering is as laid-back and relaxing as one would expect. Built on Hawaii-tinged classic pop and Americana influences, the single reminds us how crucial and refreshing it is to allow ourselves a moment of relaxation – especially in today’s over-productive reality. Also, it’s a stark reminder that not all music has to be ground-breaking.
Often, a simple, playful song is enough to turn someone’s day around. Just try it out for yourself… ‘Takin It Easy’ will no doubt wrap the listeners into a lovingly positive musical universe, celebrating the simple things in life. Duo Kelsey and Lisa do a wonderful job on the vocals, lending their charming and evocative tones to the cause.
Written by powerhouse country veterans Billy Sherrill (Tammy Wynette, George Jones), Mark Sherill (Blake Shelton, TG Sheppard), and singer Lacy J. Dalton, ‘Takin It Easy’ still carries a high degree of songwriting value, perhaps delivered with a light nostalgic flair. Crucially, it’s a track that works well in the summer – so for now, here in Europe we will save it for 2025. Nevertheless, the message is always relevant. Take a moment for yourself!
