Kean Lane and BRIEL Team Up on ’75th Street’

‘75th Street’ is the living proof that collaborative action makes for great art. An eclectic and vibrant gem, the track navigates playful soulful and indie pop territories with a certain R&B flair. Built on a beatless arrangement courtesy of Kean Lane, and BRIEL’s relatable and sultry lyricism. Meeting at a songwriting camp in New York City, the pair soon found their musical alchemy, now fully on display on ‘75th Street’.

A praise we’d love to send their way is that the single is unlike anything we have heard before. One can obviously trace some of the influences behind it, but at first listen, ‘75th Street’ is truly quirky and authentic. Perhaps such a creative force emerges from the pair’s courage to exit their comfort zone. Embracing different genres and styles, BRIEL and Lane can solidify an unexpected result.

Speaking about the collaboration with BRIEL, Kean explains: “I could not imagine anyone better to help me complete this song. I am excited to step out of my usual genre and style and release this collaborative project with BRIEL. He certainly showcased his songwriting and vocal capability in this record.” From a lyrical standpoint, ‘75 Street’ explores the troublesome world of relationships and failed expectations, shining a light on the complexity of human behaviours.
