KARMA have been making waves, and honestly, we are very proud of them. The three incredible women behind the project – KB, Keymah Renee & Miesha MonRoe – have all enjoyed a terrific rise in popularity during the last few months, so much so that there’s already an extensive USA tour in progress (they’ll be in a city near you from now till July, look out!). While Mesmerized has written about them a fair bit already, we’d love to focus on their latest effort, an empowering, fierce banger drenched in playful hip-hip energy and lyrical charisma, ‘Anthem’.
Ok, first of all: with ‘Anthem’ we can actually say that it does what it says on the tin! Echoing early ‘2000 Timbaland/Rihanna energy, the track is as striking and energetic as it can, wrapping listeners into a bouncy, dancy sonic horizon and sultry, evocative vocals, here delivered with unwavering confidence by the talented songstresses behind KARMA.
The overarching message is extremely clear and rather overwhelming. Fight for what you want, and stay true to your strengths. As KARMA eloquently explains: “We wanted to create something that resonates with people who refuse to settle, who push forward no matter what. ANTHEM’ is for everyone out there making moves and writing their own story.” A bold, striking statement that will resonate with a large amount of peeps out there.
