JW Paris Shares Moody and Intense Banger ‘You’ve Got Me’

There’s something inherently unique in ‘You’ve Got Me’. Introduced by raw, gritty distortion and an elegant, layered drum groove, the record manages to hypnotise the listeners with its repetitive patterns and sudden explosions, a contrast that is more akin to a sonic rollercoaster – one you’ll thoroughly enjoy. Penned by London-based band JW Paris, the track is as charismatic as it could. In a way, it perfectly embodies the group’s aesthetic, a dark and noisy slice of alt-rock with a decisively quirky and eclectic core.

Collin’s lead vocals mirror that sentiment perfectly, switching between sleazy and rebellious delivery, and more intense, melodic sections. The result is controlled chaos, seducing the listeners into a fulfilling and cathartic listening experience. Such a framework also perfectly fits the contemporary and relatable lyricism contained in ‘You’ve Got Me’.

Exploring the link between individualism, ego and social media, JW Paris aims to shine a light on the way digital tools can quickly become toxic and alter behaviours and personal connections; cue the constant search for attention, a signal of missing self-worth and over-reliance on others.
