Juliet Ayres Returns with Poignant Gem ‘Perfect’

Debuting earlier this year, Los Angeles-based songstress Juliet Ayres has widely showcased the stunning pop charisma she so fiercely champions. If ‘Pleasure First’ was an amuse-bouche, and ‘Maybe’ the entrée, her latest effort ‘Perfect’ is the main course. Wrapped into an elegant and evocative production, the single blooms into a nostalgic and slightly melancholic ballad, crowned by Ayres’ warm, poignant vocals.

The moody-driven path taken by the record is certainly not a surprise. Citing as main inspirations the likes of Adele, Radiohead and Mitski, it’s clear that Juliet enjoys delving into the harsh reality behind human nature, looking for meaningful relationships and the painful moments that inform our collective experience. In particular, ‘Perfect’ draws from personal experience, describing the controversial feeling of being blinded by love, and idolizing someone as a result of it.

It’s a relatable theme. Paired with Ayres’s high-level musicianship, we are confident the track will gain the project a plethora of new listeners. Speaking about the inspiration behind the lyricism, the young creative explains: “I wrote this song in a state of obsession about a person I loved, where I saw them as an idol who could do no wrong in my eyes.”
