JOSHUA Shares Gloomy and Quirky Jewel ‘Artificial Flavour’

Introduced by gloomy and quirky mangled vocals, ‘Artificial Flavour’ soon reveals its true colours. A monumentally obscure pop anthem, the track develops with a certain intimacy and lusciousness, taking JOSHUA’s vibrant vocals to another level. Drenched in spacious goo and heavy bass matter, the Aussie talent grabs the listeners’ attention and never lets go – a truly hypnotising offering.

The production is impressive too; built on crepuscular, sparse beats and a plethora of effects, ‘Artificial Flavour’ moves at a slow pace with powerful intensity, engulfing JOSHUA into a cathartic sonic livery that greatly augments his personal and relatable songwriting. What’s more, the Sydney-based artist self-produced the record by himself!

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Artificial Flavour’, JOSHUA explains: “I wrote this song 3 years ago but it’s taken a few years for me to get where I wanted to be vocally and production-wise, but it’s also coming out at a very integral point of my personal life. After a long journey, I am finally embracing my bisexuality and being even more unapologetic about who I am and what I have to offer to the world.”
