Joshua Ketchmark’s Latest Tune ‘Death Trap’ is Spellbinding

Jeremy Bregman

Nashville-based guitarist and singer/songwriter Joshua Ketchmark released his tenth studio album called ‘Blood’ earlier this year. ‘Death Trap’ is the third single from ‘Blood’, and it’s a hauntingly beautiful and emotive tune that I’ve recently fallen in love with. Ketchmark’s storytelling ability, along with his unfeigned and magical vocals, has created a track that lives within you long after your first listen. A song about overcoming obstacles, following one’s dreams, and never giving up no matter the odds, ‘Death Trap’ is simply spellbinding.

Composed, produced, engineered, and mixed by Joshua himself, it’s clear that the musician knows exactly what he’s after when it comes to his sound. I guess this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise though, given that this is his fourteenth year as a solo artist.

Having said that, ‘Blood’ does feature an absolutely incredible array of talented musicians joining the party. Zak St. John (Stevie Wonder, Black Star Riders), Michael Webb (Chris Stapleton), Tony Paoletta (Travis Tritt), and Sadler Veden (Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit) all contributed to the album.

‘Death Trap’ has stolen my heart, and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into Ketchmark’s brand-new album!
