Josh Tepper Returns with Charming Duet ‘Built Me’

We featured Josh Tepper rather recently, describing his previous single ‘Guide Me Meron’ as “a chorus that feels larger than life, and especially relatable and memorable”. We were glad to have discovered such a talented individual, especially given his powerful vocal qualities. Now, the New York-based artist returns with his latest offering, an uplifting yet emotional collaboration with Madisyn Shipman (known as Madisyn), ‘Built Me’.

Developed on a bed of RnB-flavoured material, the record feels incredibly modern and cathartic, moving fast among modulating beats and charming vocal harmonies. The contrast between Tepper’s evocative, deep vocals and Madisyn’s more malleable, bright tone works extremely well, highlighting the contemporary nature of their collective effort.

Having known each other for a number of years, the alchemy between the two is pretty noticeable. Describing the inspiration behind the song, Tepper explains: “I wrote Built Me as an ode to past relationships that weren’t necessarily good for me, but I missed the person anyway”.
