At the end of last year, we had the privilege of interviewing Canadian-based pianist, composer, and singer/songwriter Jordana Delgado. She had just released a masterly piano cover of the timeless classic ‘Autumn Leaves’, and has been a firm favourite around these parts ever since.
‘The Dancing Pink Flowers’ is Jordana’s latest offering, and it’s a composition inspired by the Bossa nova rhythmic pattern. The smooth guitar sounds of Antônio Carlos Jobim popped into her head and, from that little seed, ‘The Dancing Pink Flowers’ blossomed. “Something about it feels like dancing with elegance,” says Delgado. “And, at the same time, smells like a soft breeze of spring”.
Choosing to record her latest piece on a small upright piano in her home studio, ‘The Dancing Pink Flowers’ has an intimate and cosy ambience. It feels like you’re sitting next to Jordana, in her studio, being treated to a private performance.
The tune will form part of Delgado’s upcoming EP ‘Seasons’, which will follow the seasons of the year: Fall, Christmas, Winter, Spring and Summer. Scheduled for release next month, it’s a record that we simply cannot wait to hear!
