The latest effort by American composer and sonic wizard John Puchiele (under his “Ensemble” moniker), the record is a work of art, a rare slice of escapism and dreaminess, packed into a thousand layers of textures and orchestral soundscapes.
The result is an album that needs to be experienced in total solitude, perhaps after dark. It’s a chance for everybody to discover their inner identity, delving into painful experiences, future hope and hidden secrets. At least from the perspective of the common listeners.
