Johanna Dadap Drives Change With New Single ‘The World’s Gone Up In Smoke’’

Historically, art always served its purpose of making society reflect on its issues and challenges. To provide a metaphorical look at ourselves, and to inspire change. When that happens, artistic creation fulfils its ultimate goal. Filipino singer and songwriter Johanna Dadap decided to wholly embrace her mission as an artist, crafting an honest, heartfelt song that seeks to shed a light on the way we are mistreating mother earth today. ‘The World’s Gone Up In Smoke’ is a passionate call to action, and an effort to make sense of our chaotic and troubling reality.

Supporting charged lyrical content, we find Dadap’s charming acoustic guitar, providing the backbone of a poignant, soft pop arrangement, featuring a strings section and slow-paced acoustic drums. Paul ‘Taffy’ White curates the production, blending perfectly with the Filipino talent’s evocative and controlled vocals, steadily delivering solemn lines with hopeful attitude.

Overall, a worthy and meaningful release by Johanna Dadap, showcasing not only her musical prowess but also an enhanced sense of social responsibility. Drive change, Johanna: we’ll follow you.
