You might remember reading about Joe Sneva in our blog. In fact, it wasn’t long ago we were writing about his previous single ‘Move Over’, proudly declaring: “It’s the kind of tune that can lift your mood and make you feel better about the world, even if only for a few minutes. Sneva proves once again that he is a highly talented musician and songwriter, capable of creating music that is both meaningful and entertaining.” Naturally, we had to see what was next for the Seattle-based songster. It turns out, another stunning single.
‘I Wait For You’ is Sneva’s latest record, a bundle of anthemic energy, retro-flavourings and a decisively pop aesthetic, channelling the full force of his refined, relatable storytelling. To us, it sounds like something that could come out of the 80s, although Joe doesn’t shy away from making the track more modern. In fact, Sneva’s vocals greatly enrich the song, thanks to an evocative and cinematic tone.
Also featuring Jarrod Fenner and Aaron Wilford at drums and bass duties, the organic core trio is balanced by wide synthetisers, giving the track its retro edge. Partly inspired by ‘Hungry Heart’ by Bruce Springsteen, ‘I Wait For You’ will go a long way toward showcasing the breaking force of the project – an eclectic and kaleidoscopic outfit so fantastically championed by Joe Sneva.
