There’s something excruciatingly poignant in JOBIE’s music. Something that pulls us toward her, attracted by the emotional musical bath awaiting us. That’s a common reaction to the young Boston talent, slowly but steadily emerging as a folk and pop powerhouse. Championing a surprisingly organic sonic outlook, JOBIE differentiates herself from a music landscape that’s – frankly – overly standardised.
‘bottom of the sea’, one of her latest singles, is a clear example of that: building chill, evocative and heartwarming vibes on a bed of acoustic guitar and tame drums, the track is the perfect home for JOBIE’s intimate and nuanced vocals, a real listening treat.
Stepping up the quality of her releases constantly, there’s no telling where JOBIE might end us; although is easy to imagine a bright and rich career in the making. We’ll be here supporting!
