Emerging from Greece, we have a particularly interesting outfit. Balanced over electronica and indietronica, Jimmy Knows really resonated with us, thanks to a sound that’s nuanced and personal, never afraid to explore unbound territories. In a way, that’s their biggest win so far: in a world where everyone does music and it’s easy to sound like someone else’s, Jimmy Knows showcases the willingness to go deeper, managing to find a musical place for them, fully connected to their authentic artistry. ‘turning into something’ is the band’s latest effort, an introspective and pensive single built over organic drums, mesmerising textures and indie-flavoured guitars.
In it, Jimmy Knows seeks to grow into a more eclectic musical entity, leaving behind their rock and indie beginnings for a more comprehensive and informed sound, embracing a new deal that we are confident will bring the group to international attention pretty soon. Aiming at an EP to be released later this summer, ‘turning into something’ is the first signal of something rather special in the making. Looking forward to discovering more!
Lyrically, the record focuses on human behaviours and the way we connect with each other. As the Greek talents explain: “This song talks vaguely about the changes and transformations that people are going through while being in a relationship. Being one of our more “pop” oriented tracks, we experimented with synth-pop sounds in order to create that kind of aesthetic.”
