We vividly remember writing about Jeremy M’s emotional tune ‘gone forever’, described by us as “a profoundly moving piece of music which, believe it or not, was written and produced by the artist in his bedroom”. The same sense of surprise – or disbelief – comes to us when listening to Jeremy’s latest effort, a decisively more uplifting and fierce pop gem titled ‘it’s not your fault’.
Built over contemporary electronic stylings, the track finds its strong identity in a minimal, simple beat with an array of textures and synths, greatly complementing Jeremy M’s evocative and luscious vocals, incredibly cathartic and vibrant. The aforementioned sense of surprise arises once we take note of the British artist’s ability to drench his songwriting in deep, meaningful lyricism, something that not everyone is able to achieve.
Furthermore, the project’s upcoming EP is finally expected on September 6th – we cannot wait to hear more! Speaking about the record, Jeremy M explains: “It describes what it feels like to become a distant friend because of depression and how it can make you feel like a burden whether you’re present or not.”
