Celebrating the variety of life and her willingness to make a change for the better, American songstress Jennifer Silva has recently unveiled a powerful album, ‘Runaway’. A collection of eleven tracks balanced over Country and Americana influences, the record is quite eclectic in its sonic character, going from all-out guitar-powered anthems (such as the title track) to more poised and nuanced ballad-style episodes.
‘The Devil That You Know’ particularly captures our attention. The songwriting here is excellent: melodies are catchy and ethereal, and the instrumental is fully supporting Silva’s evocative and elegant vocals. Its follow-up, ‘Madame Sonja’, draws instead from darker, melancholic territories, showcasing once again the fantastic range and diversity enjoyed by Jennifer’s artistry.
‘Wildflowers’ takes the record to a close in soulful fashion, reiterating the many influences that go into making Silva such a complete creative. Hailing from the Catskill Mountains, where she recently moved following an important life decision, the American songstress seems to be in the best musical form of his life.
