Jen Ash Returns With Sultry, and Retro R’n’B Gem ‘Crush on You’

What makes artists unique beings, is how non-linear their careers can be. You see, prowess in artistic creation is more of a state of mind, a place where we can express ourselves freely. Naturally, one often pursues other things in life, only to come back to art years later. Rest assured though, you’ll receive the call. For Los Angeles resident Jen Ash, the calling came on the back of a professional basket career in her French motherland. Originally born in Lebanon, Ash’s kaleidoscopic artistry reflects her personality and upbringing, infusing her music with a delicious multi-genre aesthetic.

Following up on her latest release – a stunning acoustic soundtrack called ‘Sings Empire’ – the talented singer and songwriter returns with ‘Crush on You’, a more modern piece drenched in sultry and luscious, R’n’B.

Sharing a touch of 90s nostalgia, ‘Crush on You’ is introduced by classic guitar arpeggios, setting the rhythms and the tone for what’s to come. Soon, punchy, neo-soul-style drums join in, helping the track create the perfect sonic framework for Ash’s evocative, sleazy vocals. Her tone is irresistible: navigating honey-like melodies with charming nonchalance, the listeners will find themselves completely immersed in Ash’s storytelling. They won’t be lost though. A glorious chorus is here to save them, providing catchy and triumphant vibes for them to champion.

Overall, a great effort from Jen Ash, showcasing herself as a musically rich personality. Looking forward to hearing more!
