You may remember us waxing lyrical about Jehnniel‘s tune ‘Blue Skies’ last month. Describing it as an “utterly beautiful and tender piece of music”, the London-based indie-pop artist delivered a track that captured our hearts and attention. Thinking we may have to wait a while to hear from Jehnniel again, we were wonderfully surprised last Friday when up popped ‘Heart Beat’, the musician’s brand new single. Let’s dive in!
Teaming up again with producer Roberto Panovski, ‘Heart Beat’ is more sonically energetic and poppy than its predecessor. What isn’t different, however, is the gentle and inviting intro that sucks you in and primes you for what’s to come.
A song Jehnniel says is about “prejudice and social and emotional struggles caused by negative judgements and false accusations by others that lead you to feel misunderstood,” ‘Heart Beat’ confronts the challenge of feeling misunderstood with an infectious and poignant pulse.
Another stellar offering from a hugely talented artist, ‘Heart Beat’, much like ‘Blue Skies’, is an emotive and impactful tune. Jehnniel just has that je ne sais quoi, that indefinable quality, and we look forward to hearing what she serves up next!
