Emerging from London, Jayde Riannia is the latest in a wave of RnB talents to hit the British capital. It’s refreshing to be able to observe the project in its true light, and it’s better than we could ever imagine. You see, Riannia packs ‘Own It’ with passion and charisma, adding dancehall and modern grime-flavoured beats to more classic melody choices.
Lyrically, ‘Own It’ focuses on empowerment, pushing the listener to stay fierce and proud of themselves. As the lyrics declare: “I’m the apple of your eye, no telling me that it’s a lie, you know it. You can’t resist me, one of a kind, just like fine wine, just own it.”
