We wrote about Jason Myles Goss fairly recently, celebrating the release of his latest EP ‘Misfit’. Described by us as “a slice of blissful evocative energy”, the record signalled the American songster’s return to the musical game, once again showcasing his meaningful and inspiring lyricism, often drenched in intriguing storytelling and real-world experience.
Now, Goss shares a wonderful music video for ‘Younger Man’, one of the chillest tracks in the EP. From a sonic standpoint, the track is as groovy as it can be, drenched in soulful stylings and fuzzy distortions. A retro-flavoured piece, ‘Younger Man’ gets given a visual counterpart, with director Ryan Stumpe guiding descriptive and dark cinematography, with Jason as the main character.
Depicting a surprisingly troublesome cooking scene, the video shows Goss baking a cake in what appears a stressful and regretful environment, aided by a shady background and catchy colour grading. It’s hard not to get sucked into the story, with the video acting as a short, intense movie along with its soundtrack.
