When it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. When British talent Isaac Neilson debuted earlier this year, he was arming himself with the courage required to share his music with the world. Cherry trees were still blooming, bees were slowly peaking their wings out, and we were all gearing up for a glorious summer. Fast forward to today, and Neilson is a permanent fixture of the up-and-coming music scene, having left a big mark on tastemakers and festivals alike. Championed by the likes of BBC Introducing, the Buxton resident has been able to find an audience thanks to an eclectic indie style, fiercely anchored in electronic guitars and poignant vibes.
What could be next for Isaac Neilson? Apparently, it is even more good music. After having connected with a plethora of award-winning producers and engineers, in which we also find Matt Taylor (Frank Turner, KT Tunstall), Neilson is pushing forward and trying to innovate. ‘Tear This Down’ is the result of this process: boasting a more upfront, rock-infused indie vibe, the record is a delicious, fulfilling slice of modern goodness. Neilson’s evocative and charismatic vocals are framed into a top-class production, creating a bubbly, exciting and uplifting track.
We love it. If ‘Tear This Down’ is anything to go by, we are expecting the young English musician to get far, very far.
