A fierce, hard-hitting EP, ‘TRAP #7’ has the ability to look dead straight into anyone’s soul, abducting it into Beano’s vivid, heart-shaking storytelling and hypnotising flow. Hailing from Dublin, the talented rapper packs seven melancholic tracks into old-school hip-hop production, courtesy of fellow Ireland-based creative No Venom.
It’s the perfect formula; no-frills, straight-to-the-point lyricism and noisy, wonky boom-bap goodness, all declined following Beano’s authentic, honest sensibility. Our favourite episode? ‘BOUTIQUE KENNEL’, featuring Panda Drey. An icy, dark jewel with no room for compromises. Speaking about the EP, the Irish artist explains: “The project is cohesive and that comes from both myself and No Venom, the lyrical content is personal and some of my best to date – crafting stories and concepts while pulling on influences from both the present day and my childhood.”
