I first discovered the Los Angeles-based musician, animal advocate, environmentalist, and all-around changemaker Inanna in May of last year. She had released a tune called ‘The Battle’; it was one of the most entrancing and moving tracks I’d heard in a while. I’ve been following her career ever since. Just a few days ago she put out ‘Pandora’, another spellbinding and electrifying song that, if I’m being completely honest, is impossible to “place in a box”. It’s mysterious, powerful, soul-stirring, dark, and simply brilliant. A rocky, cinematic, electronic wonder.
Lyrically, ‘Pandora’ sees Inanna putting a twist on the classic myth of Pandora. “I wanted to ask Pandora what she was thinking about the box and the man who made it,” she says. “What is dark always comes to light at some point, and this song speaks about this inevitability”. It’s yet another tune in Inanna’s arsenal that showcases her incredible storytelling ability.
