Ian Roland Returns with Warm and Tranquil New Single ‘Lodestone’

I love Fridays. Not just because it’s the start of the weekend, but because so much new music comes our way! First up is ‘Lodestone’, the beautiful new single from one of our favourite artists, Brighton-based singer/songwriter Ian Roland. Serving as his second single of the year and the follow-up to the laidback and mellifluous ‘Living in Sound’, ‘Lodestone’ is inspired by the sound of local church bells heard echoing across a Sussex village.

In true Roland fashion, the warm, rich, and comforting tune evokes a sense of peace and serenity. It invites listeners to experience a tranquil escape from life’s hustle and bustle and lose themselves in its soothing melodies and gentle rhythms. A violin and viola, provided by Simon Yapp, further elevates the track’s arrangement, bringing a hauntingly elegant texture to proceedings.

“This song points to the enduring purity of music as a uniting force that rings true in all of us,” says the musician. “Music helps grow and sustain us, form shared identities, and appreciate difference”.

Penned in memory of Gavin Macleod, founder of the Greyhound Acoustic Gathering at the Greyhound Pub in Keymer, ‘Lodestone’ is yet another stunning addition to Ian Roland’s ever-growing discography. An absolute gem from start to finish!
