Hypothetical Unveil New Indie-Rock Jewel ‘Lost in Your Rhythm’

Music – and art in general – require commitment. Creativity and inspiration are not gratuitous, and often need pain, hard work and dedication to push through a winning intuition. That magical moment where everything starts to make sense: melodies and words flowing freely. American duo Hypothetical knows it very well, having championed a musical career while living in two different cities, steadily growing in quality and audience size. That’s admirable.

The pair are coming off the back of an already productive year: EP ‘Endlessly’ and single ‘Friends’ already showcased the talent of a duo that’s clearly still inspired to create. ‘Lost in Your Rhythm’ is the project’s latest effort, a deeper dive into their signature indie-rock aesthetic. In it, you’ll find Hypothetical’s usual lyrical poignancy, while pursuing slightly brighter and fierce instrumental avenues. Channelling electronic beats over strummed guitar goodness, the group manages to deliver a sound that’s fresh and contemporary while anchored in rock tradition.

Matt Feldman’s vocals are a perfect match for the track, offering a malleable and evocative vocal tone, perfectly complemented by the production expertise of Sean O’Neil. Describing the meaning behind the lyrics, Hypothetical explains: This song is about getting lost in something or someone, for better or for worse, and finding beauty and pain in that experience.
