The latest in a series of tremendous talents to emerge from Australia, Holly Hebe emerges on the young pop scene as a force to reckon with, thanks to metaphorical, witty songwriting and a malleable voice. Following in the footsteps of Phoebe Bridgers and Clairo, the Aussie songstress could be the next in line for worldwide recognition. Having listened to her music, it is clear that could happen very soon.
Gearing up for upcoming EP ‘party mix’ (out on November 24th), the project releases ‘life of the party’, an indie-pop teen anthem with a glorious, relatable chorus. There are a few things we love about it: the light, emotional arrangements and their fuzzy guitars, the simple, organic drums, and the subtle soundscapes. Everything concurs in providing the perfect musical frame for Hebe’s tame yet expressive vocals, often layered into a dazzling and rebellious harmonic tone.
If ‘party mix’ is anything to go by, Holly Hebe will soon be a household name. If you happen to be in Victoria, Aus, catch her next show here.
