HIGHWAYVES are an artistic collective based in the Isle of Man, and they’ve just released their killer new single called ‘PLASTIC’. It’s the group’s second single to date and serves as the follow-up to their hugely successful debut ‘FRAME IT’. Blending elements of shoegaze, rock, and indie, ‘PLASTIC’ has that classic “I’ve-heard-this-tune-before” feeling, and that’s always a winning recipe as far as I’m concerned. It’s got a gritty ruggedness to it that sucks you in straight away and a freeing, almost cleansing chorus that will undoubtedly get belted out by adoring crowds loud and far.
‘PLASTIC’ was mastered by the legendary Grammy-nominated engineer Robin Schmidt (The 1975, Mumford & Sons, Sam Fender, and many many more). It’s a track that, lyrically, deals with a heartwrenching loss. “Some people can stay in your heart but not in your life,” says vocalist Brad. “‘PLASTIC’ is my way of coming to terms with the loss of a friend”.
Inspired by a wide range of acts – from The 1975 and The Cribs to The Beatles and beabadoobee – HIGHWAYVES are concocting a sound that is uniquely theirs. The future is seriously bright for this talented outfit and we can’t wait to hear what they offer up next!
