Hexagon Cat Share Cryptic and Eclectic Album ‘Blue Hexagon

Described as “fun, fresh, light but dramatic” by its authors, ‘Blue Hexagon’ is certainly a peculiar record. Opening with a decisively classical and elegant flair – the instrumental, baroque anthem ‘Ice Burst’ – the album then jumps into psychedelic synth-pop with ethereal sound design (‘Twenty Five’). The keen listeners might feel already quite confused at this point; Even more so after hearing ‘Gamble’, the next track, drenched in math rock and fusion material.

That’s the effect Hexagon Cat might have on you! Hailing from New Jersey, the group includes a lineup of extremely talented musicians and visionaries, letting their artistic imagination run free while incorporating 200 years of musical history in their compositions. Jake Fuscia, John Mosley, Eric Bauberger, Joe Fuscia and Mike Britt are the humans behind Hexagon Cat.

Speaking about the lyricism behind the album, the group leave us with a cryptic “The songs on the album are either about emotional turmoil or Death Note”. Do you feel enticed yet? Don’t be afraid, join the cult, lots of musical extravaganza to be discovered!
