Boasting a sharp, electrifying sonic identity, HEARTS makes their welcome return to the global indie scene, sharing a hard-hitting and fierce record that once again showcases how talented the group is. Built over four fuzzy and charming nuggets of joy, ‘EP2’ makes ample use of vocal distortion, fast-tempo drum grooves and eclectic guitar tones, resulting in a record that never lets the listeners go, instead wrapping them into an unmatched sonic experience.
‘EP2’ is a truly strong record; such a quality won’t be a surprise when taking into account the notable history behind the project. Made up of members from Catfish and The Bottlemen(UK), The Bongo Club(SE) and Bottlecap(SE), HEARTS is obviously playing the game at a very high level, and it shows.
Our favourite episode on the record is probably ‘Sideways’, a nostalgic, melancholic offering with an anthemic and relatable chorus. Honestly though, every track in ‘EP2’ is worth your time: vibrant, contemporary and evocative, HEARTS are the band of your dreams – maybe you just don’t know yet.
