Hauspoints Gear Up for Upcoming Album ‘Eel Feeling’

Celebrated by the likes of BBC 6 Music, among others, Hauspoints have slowly attracted sizeable attention to their music. Not a surprise, once you give them a listen. Navigating post-punk, new wave and indie influences with a typical Northern England-like grittiness, the British outfit crafts material that’s vibrant and euphoric, yet meaningful and introspective. ‘Eel Feeling’ is their upcoming album, set for release this Friday.

In it, the keen listener will rejoice in Hauspoints’ fuzzy and fierce sonic imprint. Not losing themselves with fancy or elegant fillers, the group focuses on delivering pure ‘meat on the bone’. That’s how they end up with anthemic gems such as ‘The(e) Big I Am’ and ‘Common Knowledge’, among others. Spoken words are an ever-present feature, making the album extremely contemporary.

Occasional outbursts of noisy, FM-style radio interference give the whole record a leftfield character. This is what frontman Palmo had to say about it: “The perspective lyrically has always been written through a Northern lens of bemusement at the absurdity of modern human existence, and not without a sense of wry humour. Not that I’m expecting anyone else to get the joke, I’m just trying to keep myself entertained.”

Recommended! Look out for ‘Eel Feeling’, out this Friday, the 20th of September – pre-order it here, and catch the album release party here (more tour dates on their website, linked below)!
