h. eldritch Shares Indie-Folk Jewel ‘Amateur Anthropology’

Configuring itself as an eclectic and steady-paced indie-folk banger, ‘Amateur Anthropology’ works wonders in highlighting the relatability of h. eldritch’s vocals, so well stacked over the ever-present acoustic guitar and punchy drums. His tone is rather charming, balanced over melodious poignancy and gritty, raucous energy – it’s a contrast we are able to observe in the track’s arrangement too, especially when it comes to the synthesised element during the chorus.

Emerging from the smoky London capital, h. eldritch is known as Harry Houseago by day, a talented storyteller, songwriter and producer with a knack for modern folk styling and indie flavourings. Boasting a busy summer ahead, including an appearance at UK’s biggest festival Glastonbury, the project looks set on a rising trajectory.

It’s easy to understand why. ‘Amateur Anthropology’ really is a relevant record, one of those tracks that steal your heart, both sonically and lyrically. Describing the inspiration behind it, h. eldritch explains: “It’s an anthem for dysfunctional people in dysfunctional relationships”.
