Showcasing deep technical knowledge, rising talent THE Astrolabe blends exciting synth-laden arrangements with mellow lyrical themes, creating the perfect formula for music that feels nuanced and refreshing while maintaining its pop flavouring, relatability and immediacy. ‘Breathe’ is the Greek artist’s latest effort, a slow burn, anthemic and haunting banger with an emphasis on cinematic melodies and a drum machine-heavy arrangement.
Echoing a glorious era that’s now gone – headed by the likes of Depeche Mode and New Order – THE Astrolabe looks at both the past and the present, delivering material that’s essentially timeless. It rather exists in its own space-time continuum, in a parallel universe where good music is just good music.
Debuting in 2020, the Athen-based producer and songwriter has been showcasing his productivity, releasing a plethora of wonderful singles in the process. His music has gained a lot of traction in the Greek music scene, with over 1.1 million views on YouTube. If ‘Breathe’ is anything to go by, we can expect further bangers from THE Astrolabe.
