GOZI Shares Self-Directed Video for ‘it isn’t over for me, yet’

Originally debuting in 2020, GOZI is now exiting a long artistic hiatus with a powerful and celebrative hyper-pop flavoured banger, ‘it isn’t over for me, yet’. The record showcases, once again, the fresh and innovative take on modern pop that the Berlin-based talent seems to champion. Boasting a successful bedroom-pop character, GOZI is able to craft punchy, uplifting and eclectic jewels, perfectly encapsulating his witty and dynamic vocals.

‘it isn’t over for me, yet’ comes with a sensational self-directed music video, shot in Cuba over 4 days. Speaking about the concept behind it, GOZI explains: “We filmed all over Havana, even sneaking onto a beach at night. Ultimately, however, my favourite piece of footage was a one-take phone recording from the photographer’s studio; I decided that this was the perfect video for the song. All of the effects were produced in-camera by shaking the phone to the music.”

The visuals really help in manifesting the song’s lyrical theme, based on GOZI’s confessional storytelling highlighting his (positive) late-night badboy behaviour. A potential pop star in the making, the Berlin resident seems motivated to pursue unfiltered and authentic artistry, perfectly adapting to the nuanced and complex reality we are all living in.
