The keen readers will know that here at Mesmerized, we have a soft spot for anything hazy and dreamy. That’s why we were eager to cover Go Hawaii’s latest effort. Drenched in dream pop and lo-fi indie flair, ‘Days Wasted’ jumps with both feet into luscious guitar melodies and an overall ethereal aura that’s a joy to listen to. Blinking an eye to shoegaze and new wave, the single is truly eclectic in its sonic livery, yet incredibly specific in its identity.
Go Hawaii hails from Italy, Venice – perhaps they’ll be rising to international acclaim like their fellow countrymen Soviet Soviet; we’ll keep an eye on them! The talented pair have an EP on the horizon next year, and if ‘Days Wasted’ is anything to go by, there’s a lot ore goodness to come.
Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Days Wasted’, the group explain: “We wanted to create a dream pop ballad, inspired by some of the records that came out in the early 2010s. We aimed for something very sweet and dreamy, but we also wanted to give it our own personal touch.”
