Ginny Luke Returns with Empowerment Anthem ‘Devil at My Heels’

The keen reader might recall reading about Ginny Luke on our blog in the past; The Los Angeles-based performer and musician is a true force of nature, a nugget of charisma and vibrancy in musical form. Plus, she’s giving her project a quirky outlook by pairing rock guitars with her electric violin prowess. Previously writing about ‘When the Lights Go Out’, we proudly declared: “Built on a truly anthemic and sumptuous livery, the single champions modern eclectic hard rock, boasting a certain cinematic flair and a healthy dose of violin virtuosity”.

‘Devil at My Heels’ is one of Luke’s latest offerings, here featuring talented Australian guitarist Orianthi. Built on an electrifying, retro-flavoured hard rock imprint, the single takes the listeners on a journey of empowerment and independence, guided by Ginny’s charming and anthemic vocals plus a healthy dose of distorted guitar riffing and electric violin elegance. Among such a hard-hitting instrumental, the vocals manage to carve out their space, making the record a pretty friendly and wide effort.

As is often the case with such an evocative record, ‘Devil at My Heels’ boasts a tumultuous music video. Signalling personal empowerment and the willingness to stand up for oneself, Luke takes the ‘hero’ role in it, prevailing on whoever might want to see her down.
