Gideon Foster’s story is one of resilience, discovery, and hope. You see, He’s not your typical artist. For him, music was a welcomed change, the chance to grow and evolve into a better version of himself. Having already spent many summers on this earth, it wasn’t until eight years ago that Foster’s tried his hand at writing a song. As he describes it, he finally picked up a guitar he had owned for quite some time. Everything seems to take shape, with the winds of artistic expression blowing freely through Foster’s heart.
He started releasing music in 2018, but it was only with the pandemic that his writing focus could be sharpened, allowing him to delve into personal experience and remembrance of a past long lost. Aided by the pandemic-induced confinement, Gideon embarked on a journey of reflection and introspection, birthing his opera magna, a stunning 13-track album titled ‘Prophecy’. As Foster explains, “it’s been 53 years in the making”.
In it, the listener will be able to delve deep into the refined lyricism of the British songwriter, catching a glimpse of his metaphorical and intense storytelling. Sonically, the album oscillated between celebrative and solemn folk to mellow rock and pop offerings. What’s notable, is how Foster’s vocals are able to modulate constantly, adapting to the settings they are bathed into. Showcasing a deep and authoritative tone, we are confident Gideon will be able to connect deeply with a large audience.
Notably, Foster is also releasing a short book, tied to the album, ‘Walking with Mae’.
