Get on Your Dancing Shoes for Romain Gutsy’s ‘I’m James Bond’

Just a few days ago, Paris-based singer/songwriter and musician Romain Gutsy put out his sophomore album entitled ‘Numero 2’. It serves as the follow-up to last year’s ‘When Leonard Met Dolly’, and contains a tune on it called ‘I’m James Bond’ that I simply cannot get out of my head! It’s, undoubtedly, one of the catchiest and most fun tracks that I’ve heard all year, as Romain imagines himself as James Bond, and tells his story of being the legendary 007. With upbeat ska-like verses (brass and all) and an insatiable chorus, Gutsy has created a dancy and swayful atmosphere that, I promise you, is impossible to ignore!

The artist began his musical career in the 90s as a vocalist and accordion player with the French band Les Affamés. Since then, he’s been fortunate enough to have worked with the late blues and roots rock legend Calvin Russell as well as Minneapolis-based heavyweights Soul Asylum.

Romain took a twenty-year musical “semi-pause”, as he travelled all over the world. He finally returned in 2020, and I’m happy to report that he seems to be as busy as ever! Do give ‘Numero 2’ some attention and love – it’s an album that is seriously worthy of your time!
