The artistic and personal alchemy between the two talented humans in Numbers Don’t Count is astounding. Both hailing from North-West Germany but now residing in Berlin, Marian and Marcel have single-handedly built a heartwarming, poignant musical style. Balanced over folk, pop and classic rock sensibilities, the project has been active since last year. Even with only four singles released to date, the pair’s lyrical force is undeniable.
Gearing for a bright future, Numbers Don’t Count have just released their newest record, the mellow and soothing piece ‘Any Love At All’. The track follows the more upbeat and bubbly ‘I’ll Be There’, released earlier this summer.
Embracing slow-tempo, Bossanova-infused drums, the song layers arpeggiated guitars and nostalgic piano lines, creating the perfect sonic framework for the duo’s vocals. Light yet intense, the lyrical matter effortlessly reaches the listeners, wrapping them with a warm, emotional blanket. Perhaps a fitting release for the holidays, ‘Any Love At All’ is a joy to listen to. Friendly and accessible, everyone in the family will love it.
Overall, Numbers Don’t Count seems to be steadily progressing towards artistic recognition. Will 2023 be their year? We think so.
