George Crump manages to craft modern and hypnotising pop bangers, and given what we have heard, we are confident the music industry will soon snap them up. For now, though, Crump is on a collaborative mission, uplifting female-identifying creatives and releasing a series of luscious, evocative records. ‘Give You Anything’ is the latest effort in such series, and sees George teaming up with fellow Brighton-based songstress ALY.
The result is an anthemic, majestic banger, drenched in retro tones yet looking at the future. A fan of 80s-inspired features, Crump drenches the track in charming synth textures and punchy drum machine-style grooves. A sleazy, fierce electric guitar crowns the track and blesses ‘Give You Anything’ as a hybrid, contemporary jewel, which is bound to easily connect with peeps around the world. Furthermore, ALY’s vocals are extremely bold and relatable, completely commanding the listener’s attention.
Speaking about the single, the duo explain: “The track is about battling with low self-esteem in a relationship but prioritising the other person’s needs above yours.”
