Genevieve Miles Shares Expansive Gem ‘howl’

There’s always been something deeply fascinating in Genevieve Miles’ nuanced artistry. Her bucolic and expansive sound never failed to impress us, together with her deep, cathartic lyricism. Following up on last year’s EP ‘So heavy, so hard to hold’, the British songstress now returns with a new offering, a shoegaze-flavoured piece titled ‘howl’.

It celebrates a new era for Miles; now based in Birmingham, she’s been exploring a band-powered dimension, recording the single with a newly found collaborative flair. The result is pretty intriguing: ‘howl’ is substantially heavier and spacious, fully realizing Genevieve’s lyrical and artistic potential. The track was recorded in Digbeth by Jo Cartledge.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Miles explains: “This has always been our favourite to play live, I am beyond excited that we can all finally cry and scream together at home to this song, one I wrote at ground zero of a broken heart.”
