Previous effort ‘The Nice Guy’ opened the door to a brighter, sunnier brand of electronic pop. Gangi’s new record continues building on that premise while being more courageous in its character. ‘Sugar Stained’ represents a potential new chapter for the American talent, who clearly seems ready to innovate and bring freshness into her music.
Introduced by leftfield synth lines, the track soon makes its way into broken beats and RnB-infused bubbliness. Geena Gangi seems to be at her best in this environment, boasting a charming and evocative vocal tone that shares quite a fair bit of soulful attitude.
